Edgar Jaques

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edgar Jaques, beloved husband of Gale (Everitt) Jaques, of Preeceville and formerly of the Endeavour District, passed away on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026. He was 72 years of age.

As per his wishes a family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in memory of Edgar may be made to St. James Anglican Church, the Roughrider Snowmobile Club, or to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre as gifts of remembrance.

Edgar David Jaques was born on May 29th, 1953, the youngest of four children born to David and Mildred (Berg) Jaques. Edgar grew up on the farm west of Endeavour and attended Veteran’s School, Endeavour School, Preeceville School and Sturgis Composite High School.

On November 6th, 1976, Edgar married Gale Everitt. They had three children: Greg, Grant and Sheryl.

Edgar was a hard worker and always believed in doing a good job. He worked for the R.M. of Preeceville, as a grader operator, for 30 years where he got to know pretty much everyone in the area. After retiring from the R.M. he worked for Jakubowski Enterprises/Taiga Technoligies for 14 years. He and his wife took over the family farm west of Endeavour when his parents moved to Preeceville. They eventually switched to organic farming and now his son Grant has taken over the farm.

Edgar enjoyed many outdoor activities but was especially fond of trapping, fishing and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed beekeeping and found it very interesting which eventually developed a fondness for the bees and everything to do with them. He was an active volunteer and was a member of the Endeavour and District Community Complex, Endeavour Eagles Club, and the Roughrider Snowmobile Club. Edgar was always quick to lend a hand and liked being involved in his community whenever possible.

Edgar was predeceased by his parents, David and Mildred Jaques; sisters, Janice Jaques and Phyllis Kreutzer, and brother-in-law Stanley Kreutzer; sister-in-law, Peggy Everitt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gale; children, Greg (Amanda), Grant, Sheryl (Bill); grandchildren, Jayde (Paige), Dakota, and Hunter; brother, Wilfred (Maybelle) Jaques; brothers-in-law, Larry Everitt, Lawrence Everitt, Wayne (Debbie) Everitt, Donald (Colleen) Everitt, Wilfred Everitt; sisters-in-law, Darlene (Blaine) Ganong, and Faye (Jack) Lesanko and many cherished nieces and nephews as well as many extended family and friends.
